Unnoticed in spite of the two video cameras positioned above the mirrored window that monitor the coming and going on the sidewalk. A streetcar turns the corner, reflected in the big window, and continues on its way. I passed it by, past the Diesel store and on to Adidas, in between maybe an espresso, passing the mirrored window, the surveillance cameras and the strangely recessed entrance two or three times, but noticed nothing, strode past in step with the new, successful, urban beat of Berlin-Mitte. Only the mirrored window stuck in my mind, plus a question: What’s behind the mirror?
